M'BRICK
ARTIST BIO
B. 1980 PARIS, FRANCE
Currently known under his artist name M’BricK, former professional ice hockey athlete Aymeric Gillet found his creative outlet through the colorful building blocks beloved by the masses: LEGO®. M’BricK created his first LEGO® artwork as a gift to his partner fifteen years ago, inspired by a pixelated image of Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe. Currently based in Dijon, France, M’BricK has continued to develop his own unique “painting” technique, with his passion for street art leading him to take over the city with small LEGO® works. Upon closer inspection, his one-of-a-kind pixelated 3D relief LEGO® works contain troves of meticulous scenes and details.
CREATIVE INSPIRATION
M’BricK recreates the BAPE® SHARK STA in his signature LEGO® technique. With influences from street art legends such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, INVADER, and the world of music and fashion, M’BricK explores the world of sneakers through this 3D relief LEGO® work, depicting scenes and familiar cityscapes.
